Ø Rookie Camp Registration Guidelines (2008-2009)
· The Rookie Camp is designed for Pre-Kindergarten age boys and girls, ages 4 – 6 (birthdates 7/01/02 – 9/20/04) who are interested in playing hockey and for those Kindergarten age boys and girls with little to moderate skating experience.
· We will work on basic skating (forward and backward), skating with the puck, shooting the puck, and fun drills and games.
§ Pre-Kindergarten Skaters
· If your child enjoys hockey after the Fall Rookie Camp, you may also want to Register in January for the Winter Rookie Camp.
§ Kindergarten Skaters
· We are allowing Kindergarten age boys and girls to register for the Fall Rookie Camp, especially if the child is new to hockey and skating. Kindergarten age skaters may find the Fall Rookie Camp as an excellent opportunity to prepare for the Mite 1 Season that starts on November 1.

Common questions on Equipment for Players
- Skate sharpening – Rule of thumb is every 4 – 6 skates on indoor ice, more frequently on outdoor ice.
- Hockey Sticks – If you are not sure which way your child shoots (left or right), a straight blade stick is recommended. Most sporting goods stores will be happy to cut your stick to the correct height (a good rule of thumb for stick height, with skates on the stick should come between the collar bone and chin. With the skates off, the stick should come between the chin and nose).
