Helmets on Coaches
Effective SEPTEMBER 1, 2006: USA Hockey requires that helmets be worn by coaches when they are on ice with a youth team or any registered players, including during clinics, tryouts, games and practices.
Minnesota Hockey requires the helmet chin straps to be buckled. Shields or face masks are NOT required but the helmet must be HECC approved and strapped on. The penality for non-compliance is suspension from all activities for up to 30 days. The enforcement of the rule is the responsibility of the local associations and the district officers. The only exceptions are for Tier 1 Junior coaches and NTDP coaches.
CCM/Rbk, in conjunction with their local dealers are offering specials for coaches. Click here for helmet specials for Minnesota Hockey coaches.
